“social media networking; a major apparatus in the e-learning paradigm shift”

05 May

A social network is a social structure made up of individuals (or organizations) called “nodes”, which are connected by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, kinship, common interest, financial exchange, dislike, sexual relationships, or relationships of beliefs, knowledge or prestige.

Time flies quickly, a few years ago people tend to communicate using wired gadgets such as telephones or ham radios. Today, the internet has reshaped our world beyond our imagination.

Part of the ever growing popularity of the World Wide Web as a new means of communication is the advent of social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, Skype, YouTube, yahoo etc. These are proprietary websites that can be used by common people to post personal profiles, pictures, videos, music as well as share important messages in the field of education.

Many people consider these sites as a work of the devil. It could be. However, one must realize that anything can become good or bad depending on the person’s intentions. Social networking sites has shaped our world whether we like it or not and it will become an indispensable tool if it’s used for good purposes.

one thing about these social networks is that they are even able to reconnect long lost friends and that is a plus.it also helps to get people of the same profession and expertise scattered around the world to share knowledge and can thus be said to be a repository of knowledge.

u are ryyt, social networking is really helping us. You can promote your site or business for free – If you have a business or site you need to promote you can do it by creating a business profile on some of these networks. You can load images, your logo, etc. into your profile and it will be visible for your virtual friends and all the users who visit your profile. You can also put topics on groups related to your business and stabilish new contacts that can lead to sales, subscriptions or anything else.

By far, social media sites have worked very well as one of the strategies being used in marketing. It has truly expanded the clientele of my business. Moreover, social media empowers the company to pick up big, looking out for more from the networks.
